Instructor overall effectiveness
First off, I want to stress the Instructor was Excellent, Very thorough, knowledgeable and Instructive. My main concern was with the class length. I really felt the instructor assigned for teaching the class was the right person. He was extremely knowledgeable of the material and was there to help in any and every way possible. Maybe having the material available much earlier with highlights on the chapters we were going to go through may have made all the difference, I could have skimmed over the material and had questions ready as the material is being reviewed. Since I was the only student registered in the Coldfusion 101 training, Ledet Training decides to reduce the 2-day class to 1 day. Initially, that sounds logical as the instructor would need to spend time helping multiple students, but the volume of material was significant, where at a certain point, I felt if I asked questions, we would not cover all the material. I started getting lost when we started to talk about constructors and completely lost talking about the Application.cfc. I felt due to the time constraints, I did not want to ask questions and felt it would come to me. The more information I received, the further behind I got until there was no sense in stopping and going back. The way I process information is I need to fully understand a section (by asking questions) before I move on. My instructor never stopped me from asking questions, (and maybe it was me) but I felt the pace was increasing after lunch due to the amount of material in front of us. so stopping would just slow us down too much I also know we did not cover all the training material we should have for the Coldfusion 101 class. A one-day training class for this amount of material regardless of the number of students was definitely not enough. More students may have made it easier as similar questions (from other students) may have brought us all back to the same level. Prior to signing up, I had several conversations with the Sales staff of the Pros and Cons of in-person and online training. I was really looking forward to an in-person training class but was informed it was only being offered online for the remainder of 2022. Taking the online class meant I needed to make sure my computer was configured the same way the classroom computers were configured. I traded several E-mails with the Sales staff who told me I needed to install Coldfusion 2021, and Coldfusion Builder (Both free from Adobe if using the evaluation downloads). I already had Coldfusion 11 installed (and working) on my computer and went ahead to upgrade it to Coldfusion 2021 (which until starting to take the class I didn’t realize was not configured properly). When the Training material came a few days before the class started, the material I received was Fast Tack to Coldfusion 9, which is a lot older than what I already had installed and working. Why was I told I needed to install Coldfusion 2021 when the material was based on an older version of Coldfusion? Maybe it’s the Advanced class that takes advantage of the new Tags used in CF2021? I was ever so slightly disappointed at the end of the day the section of the material we were reviewing was not working the instructor asked me to e-mail it to him (which I did) and that he would get back to me. I never heard back, maybe I had an incorrect e-mail address, I used the same one as the Zoom Meeting maker came in.

It was a great class. It was really fast and demanding, but I learned a lot from it.
