Gaiter, 'Boot', Track Rod End Reviews

Read MGOC Spares Reviews

A split or missing track rod boot can quickly lead to failure of the track rod end ball joint introducing play into the steering. Deterioration of the rubber boot can be more rapid when the car is stored for long periods, with the boot hardening and becoming brittle particularly if red rubber grease has not been applied to protect the boot from drying out. Working with our manufacturing partners, MGOC Spares has commissioned replacement track rod end boot, (as used on MGAs, MGBs, MGCs & Midgets) manufactured from neoprene (also known as polychloroprene rubber) for enhanced resistance to oil, heat and weathering. Note, the same quality neoprene rubber is included within MGOC Spares' range of complete track rod ends.

The rod end fits well with the ball at the correct height but the gaiter compresses so much that it just touches the brake disc and will wear through in a short time!
