“The quality of this steel pipe needs a little attention on three areas. The tab that secures the pipe to the engine block is too long and had to be modified to enable it to be secured properly without fowling the exhaust manifold. Secondly, the paint coating is poor and can be rubbed off while handling the pipe, therefore it allows the pipe to corroded more easily. A better coating would be to use a high temperature coating as used on some exhaust manifolds. Lastly, the right hand end of the tube which carries the nut and olive had nasty burrs which prevented the nut and olive from sliding onto the pipe. The physical modifications were easily made but should be completed during manufacture.”
