When storing, keeping your MGs battery fully charged is the only way to prevent it from discharging. When the battery is not in-use sulphates will deposit on the surface of the lead charging plates, reducing their capacity to hold charge and ultimately resulting in battery failure. To avoid costly battery replacement, MGOC Accessories recommends using an Accumate four-stage smart charger-maintainer, designed to be permanently connected to your vehicle's battery when the vehicle is not in use with a smart function which automatically switches to a 1.2Ah constant charge when a drop in voltage is detected and reverts to an intermediate constant float charge thereafter. With a proven, safe reputation the Accumate has been designed for long-term connection to 6 or 12v lead acid batteries from 4Ah to 75Ah, and includes internal circuit protection to prevent risk of overcharge or overheating. The Accumate is supplied inclusive of crocodile clips and semipermanent loom connector. Please Note: 6/12V units have industry standard SAE plug connectors on cables therefore are not compatible with early extension cables. This charger maintains a voltage of between 14.3v and 13.8v.
