Original MGBGTV8 engines operate with characteristically low oil pressure throughout the rev range, with pressure dropping further at low and high RPMs, during which time critical components receive only marginal lubrication. The declining efficiency of the oil pump and other related components can become noticeable over time and if not addressed, insufficient oil pressure could do serious damage to the engine. MGOC Spares & Accessories are pleased to offer a high capacity oil pump kit suitable for original MGB GTV8s fitted with the standard oil pump (BHH998), designed to increase both idle and high rpm pressure and raise oil pump capacity by 40%. The kit comprises 27mm idler & slot drive distributor gears, 5mm alloy extension adaptor plate, gaskets, screws and fittings. The kit must be fitted in conjunction with uprated oil pump spring (part number 602067) to take account of the increased capacity.
