Note: Original Lever Armstrong Dampers require priming prior to fitment, to dispel any air that may be held within the damper fluid. To prime the damper, either in situ, if safe to do so or secured within a vice, stroke the damper up and down, within the arms full range of motion ten times, then fit to car. I needed to replace shock absorbers in readiness for mot. I fitted them day after received and sent the old ones back the day after, it was an easy process.

Damper nicely presented in black paint. Now fitted, performs perfectly. Issues fitting it included finding the pinchbolt that clamps the wishbone very corroded, unrestored, and my (new) trunnion bolt refused to fit into the wishbone until the hole was relieved with a file - rather odd that it was not simply paint fouling the hole. All in all, removing the old damper took a third of the time it took to fit the new one! Perhaps a look at QC, and consider issuing a leaflet with these dampers, indicating checks to carry out before installing them?
