MGOC Spares offers a full range of MG water pumps manufactured to exacting standards, incorporating a cast iron impeller (where originally specified) and high-quality modern bearing; benefitting from modern sealing technology and rigorous inspection to ensure optimum performance and reliability. All water pumps are supplied with sealing gasket and two-year warranty for peace of mind.

GWP130 was used for all 18V series engines (approx. from August 1971 to end of production, measuring 3.25"/82.5 mm from engine block to rear of the pulley mounting, with an impellor diameter of 2.812"/ 71.5mm. This later pump was additionally fitted with a spacer between the water pump pulley and fan, approx. 20-25mm.

When ordering replacement water pumps for the B series engine (used on MGA & MGB) it pays to check which pump type you have; it is worth keeping in mind with the passage of time the original pump may have been changed to another type and this can lead to alignment issues with the pulleys. For the B series engine the water pumps have been standardised to four variants. The MGA 3 Bearing engine used GWP103, the MGB B series engines used one of three water pumps; from early to late these were GWP115, GWP114, GWP130.

The correct water pump can be identified by taking a measurement from the engine block face to the rear of the pulley mounting (not to be confused with the back of the water pump pulley for which the fan belt is fitted too) and by measuring the width/diameter of the impellor.

The MGA 3 Bearing engine used a GWP103 water pump with a casting length measuring 3.625"/93mm measured from engine block to rear of the pulley mounting.
The MGB B series, early chrome bumper engines (from approx. 1962 to August 1970) used one of two water pumps, GWP115 or GWP114 both measuring 4.125" /105mm from engine block to rear of the pulley mounting.
Part number GWP115 was used from 18G to 18GA series 3 Main Bearing engines (approx. from 1962 to February 1964), these had an impellor diameter of 2.3125"/ 59mm.
Part number GWP114 was used from 18GB to 18GG 5 Main Bearing engines (approx. October 1964 to August 1970), these had an impellor diameter of 2.8125" / 71.5mm.
Part number GWP130 was used for all 18V series engines (approx. from August 1971 to end of production, measuring 3.25"/82.5 mm from engine block to rear of the pulley mounting, with an impellor diameter of 2.812"/ 71.5mm. This later pump was additionally fitted with a spacer between the water pump pulley and fan, approx. 20-25mm.

Seems OK, same as the one I am replacing. Fitted well, have not tried it yet.

All fitted okay, the centre sproket plate can rust so best to put paint on it. Holds pressure well.

Excellent quality/price cast iron water pump, slightly different to the alloy one that was removed in that it required 3 short and 1 long bolt as opposed to 2 of each in the alloy pump, came well packed with quick delivery.

Started the MGB after home service and what a scretch. Checked water pump and found the culprit. Ordered replacement from MGOC, arrived next day and fitted same afternoon (having dismantalled prior to delivery). New pump fitted and now ready to go. Thank you for quick delivery.

Hi The pump arrived just as promised within 3 days and fitted perfectly to the car. Only down side was that the packing was not so good and the small box with the pump in was damaged quite badly but luckily the pump was all ok. Many thanks Gary Summers GDS Transport
