Owners of MGFs and TFs may have noticed that the silver anodised look paint around the fuel cap centre starts to peel due to exposure to fuel vapour which overtime has softened the paint. MGOC Spares now stock original equipment fuel cap surrounds suitable for MGF 2000on and all MGTFs. To replace, simply remove the surrounding Allen screws, gently prise the black plastic base away and push the black plastic tabs of the locking centre inboard to release the surround, reversing the procedure to re-assemble. Note that replacing the surround works out a cheaper option than buying the paint stripper, wet & dry paper, paint and clear lacquer for a DIY job.
