Hatch Day Issue: subbed per conversation with customer that she would take any color silkies we had Reviews

5 Rating 1 Reviews
Silkies may be small and lay smaller eggs, but they make up for this with their mothering instinct to sit on any egg that is laid in the house nesting boxes. We rescued 2 Canada Goose eggs and put them in the nesting boxes. When 1 Silkie was too small to sufficiently cover the large eggs, our group of Silkies teamed up and would take turns, 2 Silkies sat on each egg for over 28 days. And - both geese hatched — thanks to these determined mother Silkies. You can’t beat their mothering skills, not to mention their gentle nature.
