“They arrived quickly, installed easily and the chickens learned after tapping their beak on them, one time. The hassle of trying to keep fresh water is gone. From changing it out multiple times a day, to filling it up once every couple weeks! Ordering more to have multiple waters throughout the run and yard.”
“I thought that it would be more difficult for my ~7 week old chicks to figure out these drinking nipples. But low and behold, it was easy. We would push on them to let them know that water came out, and they were curious enough to finally peck at it themselves.
I really like that there isn't a cup to hold water and attract bees and collect gunk.
It may take them a bit longer to get fully hydrated with these, but what else do chickens have to do all day?”
“I have these on my heated water buckets... yet in the winter they WILL freeze solidly whenever the temps dip much below 19F. Since we get multiple weeks of sub-zero temps, I found it necessary to thaw the nipples out three times a day so the girls would have water. Be careful... when they are frozen, they shear apart with the slightest bump. I still think these are the best around.. but be aware of winter problems.”
“Works well! Much better than the non-horizontal nipples. I put these in the bottom of a bucket with a thermostatic heater inside. Saves me a lot of trips to fill water.”
“Pretty good. Had some issues getting a good seal and some plastic shaving I missed fouled it up not leaking. Cleaned off and put some Teflon tape on the threads and works good now.”
