“We ordered five EEs total. They all arrived healthy and lively. We were really hoping for a good mix of colors and couldn’t be happier. Each hen has grow into a different color and they’re all beautiful! I love Easter Eggers because there is always a chance you’ll get a rainbow of plumage colors and it’s so fun to see what your chicks will grow into. Ours are both silver and gold based, duckwing, partridge, pencilled, all with muffs and most with beards. Thank you MPC for such a good variety! Personalities vary, but generally they are all curious, easy going with the their flock mates, and middle to lower down in the pecking order. A few are a little skittish (one kind of comically so). They’ll follow me around and eat from my hand, but avoid getting picked up more so than my friendlier dual purpose breeds (Orpington, Sussex, Wyandotte, Marans). They aren’t loving the summer heat here in Arizona (same tbh) and some of them seem to be having a harder time with the heat that the single comb, beardless breeds in the flock which makes sense. Water dishes, shade, and misting fans have helped tremendously though. When it’s slightly less awful out in the mornings and evenings, they’re active foragers and great bug hunters. They just started laying at 22 weeks. Of the four that are laying so far, one is laying slightly bluer than the rest and the others are laying greener eggs. Love these girls!”
“My little EE chick is almost 5 weeks old. From the start she seemed to think I was just one of the flock. She loves to sit on my lap. I carry her around (sometimes even outside to see the “big girls”)… and she just settles into my hand with legs dangling and takes in the sights! Sweet and friendly as she can be! She is gorgeous, too! She very light with a blue-ish color. Hard to tell from the Blue Splash Marans. A very special girl!”
Thank you for your review of our Easter Egger chick! She sounds like she's going to be a beautiful lady! We hope she continues to bring you happiness and lots of eggs eventually!
We love the Easter Egger breed as well! They are a great addition to any flock and perfect for those who may be just beginning their flock keeping adventure or those who want the friendliest breeds in their backyard! We are happy to hear that she is bringing you such happiness!
Patty, thank you for your 5 star review on your Easter Egger chicks! Easter Eggers are friendly and great layers. Most will lay large eggs in shades of blue and green.
