“We got an Ancona added to our flock with a White Layer Assortment option last year and she has been a very pretty addition to our yard. She has a very large comb that still stands up and hasn't flopped over but it is almost comically large and makes her very easy to spot next to our Swedish Flower Hen that is black and white mottled. She did amazing in the heat this summer, and is unbothered by our winter temperatures even with the large comb. (We have a good coop set up that keeps them dry so frost bite is less of an issue when temps are below freezing.)
She lays a white egg that's Medium sized with a good strong shell 3-4 times a week quite consistently, she stopped for molting but is laying again in December with temps in the 20's. Very Nice breed, I plan to send some to my Mother's flock in Florida for Spring to add to her farm they will be a great option for her for the humidity and heat. Definitely recommend for hot climates.”
“This was the first time having baby chicks shipped but was so excited and happy when they arrived safe and sound! This little girl is the smallest of the bunch but the most inquisitive of the flock. Because she's an Italian breed we named her Louisa. At 3 weeks old now, she loves to explore and is pretty independent and loves to cuddle. Can't wait to see her feathers change in the following weeks.”
Thank you Brian for leaving a review for your Ancona chick, Louisa. She is adorable! We never get tired of hearing that our babies arrived safely. We are delighted you are enjoying her.
