“These would have been a 5 star rating but for a few issues. The metal feeder and plastic container were difficult to connect, as something seemed to be wrong with the threading causin them to not match up well. Otherwise, it works well and I am still using it four weeks later. I had to switch to a differnt kind of waterer after only a few weeks, though, because they chicks kicked so much of their bedding into their water. it was only suitable to use for the first week or so.”

The little chicks kicking their bedding into their feeders and waterers is something I believe all of us flock keepers has experienced - they seem to enjoy making a mess for us to clean up, don't they? :-) One way that we have found to combat this in the brooder is to use some type of riser, such as a wood block or a concrete paver, to set the feeder and waterer on which will often keep the amount of bedding and other unsavory things from getting into them.
