“I really enjoy ordering from My Pet Chickens. I've been ordering for over 4 years and multiple times each year. Losses have occurred occasionally but the staff has been great in working with me with reimbursement or replacing the loss in the next order if I have one. This group is passionate about their job and the care of the shipment of chicks. I have listened to other's talk about their hatchery, but I've not heard them praise them like I would about My Pet Chickens. So far all my chickens are wonderful, friendly, and enjoying life here on the farm. I am now up to 65 healthy chickens, and a huge variety of breeds. I've not grown to one breed type yet, they all have been awesome from MPC. I am considering expanding to grow Meat Chicks or add Ducks.”
“Fauna is always standing at the back door telling you she'd like more treats. She is a beautiful blue with a darker charcoal with brown tinged head & feathered feet. She's bold & funny & was the first of my flock to start laying. She lays pretty, dark cinnamon brown eggs, often with lots of small freckles. I just ordered another one!”
“Our little blue copper marans is awesome- unlike the other chicks, the minute she arrived she has been exploring and fearless. She's such a little sweetheart too, loves jumping right up into my hand unprompted. By day two, she was already jumping on top of our mama heat pad cave. Nothing scares her and when I walk into the room she immediately runs out to see who has come to visit. Love her! All the chicks arrived so quickly and in pristine health. “Our Blue Copper Maran came in the rare maran assortment (we figured out when she grew older by process of elimination using her color/size/feathers). She just laid her first egg at 19 weeks...our first layer!! She's definitely larger than the rest but such a sweetie. Her egg was light brown.”
“Cinderella and Mozzarella are lovely hens. They are friendly and calm. They don't lay every day, but they seem to be bearing the hot, humid weather better than some of our others and have kept laying pretty steadily. More than half of their eggs are double yolks, and we've had a few quadruple yolk eggs. Their eggs aren't as dark as the Cuckoo Marans, but they are pretty.”
“I ordered one of the BCM‚Äôs in a mixed flock last fall. Violet is a large and beautiful girl at 27 weeks and I‚Äôm expecting her to lay any day now. She has large tufted feathers on her feet which make her look very elegant. She is also calm and friendly. I couldn‚Äôt be more pleased with all my breed selections. I ordered sexed chicks and all five were females which was a huge relief! My Pet Chicken offers high quality birds and I will be purchasing more in the future.”
