Baby Chicks: Buff Laced Polish Female Reviews

4.6 Rating 37 Reviews
I received my three baby chicks about 3 weeks ago. One of the chicks was visibly thinner than the other two. I have raised many chickens before, so I knew I would need to pay extra attention to her. She was the only one of the group that developed "pasty butt", and I promptly took care of that. She experienced recurrence of that two more times and I carefully washed her bottom each time. But I noticed she didn't seem to have the same energy level as her sisters and her intake wasn't as good. She grew weaker over time and finally passed away this morning. I felt sad for her and don't really know what the problem was, but I suspect something inside wasn't working correctly. My only comment is that I think the staff at My Pet Chicken should not ship out chicks that are visibly scrawny to begin with as that usually indicates there is something wrong and will most likely lead to a poor outcome.

We extend our sincere sympathy for the loss of your little one, especially after your diligent efforts to help her. My Pet Chicken values the lives of the baby birds we hatch and sell, and we make every effort to ensure their health and longevity for years to come. Although Mother Nature had different plans in this instance, I'll be reaching out to you via email to explore a solution together.

I ordered 5 and they sent me the wrong chicks. I called customer service and they are not sure what they sent me either. However, they were very curtious and tried to help determine what it was I received. Then they sent me out 5 of these buff laced polish chicks for free as a replacement and I couldn't be happier. Their puffy little tops are adorable and they are very friendly and curious little ones. I have had them a little over a week now and they are doing very well. I even had them with some quail chicks for a while and they cuddled right up to them. When I took the quail chicks out, they were sad and chirped for them for a few hours. I look forward to purchasing some Silver Laced Polish as soon as they are available. Thank you Mypetchicken.com!

All chicks arrived safely and are doing well, it the buff Polish is the largest, seems the strongest, and is the "bravest", hops into my hand and isn't afraid to be picked up.

Love them. Unfortunately I lost one shortly after they arrived. Otherwise her sister Faith is quite a personality already. I always purchase from MPC for the best chicks .

Brilliant baby chicks, the pair are the most friendly and curious of the flock of ten. Always near the window in the morning wanting to jump on my hand and play. They do get a tad pecked on the top of the head but I put on some Kotex and that fixed the issue.
