Baby Chicks: Buff Laced Polish Female Reviews

4.6 Rating 37 Reviews
Phyllis now two years old and is full of personality and spunk, but she isn't a bossy jerk. She follows me along the run and chases the dog along the run as well when he comes by like a punk to bug the chickens. Her crest is kind of messy, not super round like the photo, and she does not have a beard. She has beautiful slate grey legs. It's supposed to be a gamble with polish and egg laying, but the quirky looks of the breed made me take the gamble and I'm glad I did! She lays 6 medium sized white eggs a week, which is more than any other bird I have! I will definitely add more polish to my flock in the future!

Our Buff Laced Polish, Clementine, is the star of the show. She’s pretty content just sitting on my shoulder. We’ve been the best of friends since I received her as a day old chick from MPC in Aug 2018. She’s beautiful, funny, and everyone’s favorite. She’s also quite the beggar. We have two polish, the white created black polish and the buff laced polish. They’re both friendly, but the black white crested polish doesn’t like being held as much. They’re great! You won’t regret getting one.

My buff lace polish arrived on deaths door. She was the only one that was weak and limp. I didn’t think she was going to make it. However she made a miraculous recovery! Then at around week 2 I had an accident in my brooder and she got injured. She was limping for days and wasn’t eating properly but then again she ended up making a full recovery! She was one tough chick and into adulthood doesn’t let the others (all large breed) pick on her. She is even the head hens side kick. She is friendly and outgoing. She is noisy at times but doesn’t go on for long. The crest does get pretty messy especially on rainy days so she does get a bath every now and then. She started laying white eggs at 31 weeks of age. Now she lays about 5 eggs a week and we are going into December. She a great chicken and I highly reccomend each flock have a polish.

I ordered a Buff Polish this spring, and she was the most outgoing of the chicks. She was a very odd looking chick that has turned into an odd looking hen. She is extremely unique in appearance, and is many peoples favorite who see my birds. She is tall in posture, and has wonderful grey colored legs that contrast her orange/buff plumage. Quite a stunning bird. Her personality is also excellent, she is friendly and easy to pick up, and often she will jump up on me to hang out. The only downside is that her crest does get a little dusty sometimes when she is scratching around, and can get messy if she is eating something wet like melons or tomatoes, but a little rinse off is well worth it. I was nervous of getting a polish in a flock of all non-crested, but it has been 4 months now and no one has ever bothered her (perhaps because of her personality--she isn't skittish). Highly recommend the Buff Laced Polish!

In our Spring order we got that we had picked except one. There was a switch up and we received one Buff Laced Polish. BEST mistake ever! What a joy and the entertainment value is priceless. She is beautiful, gentle, wacky and a bit headstrong when it comes to the dog. Gave her a crest trim so she no be in constant freak out mode. If I expand, I will get more!!
