Pullets: Buff Orpington Reviews

5 Rating 34 Reviews
We ordered 6 birds of two different varieties and the boxes were separated in the mail, so the 3 Buff Orpingtons shipped Monday evening and arrived at my local post office on Wednesday morning. They are cute, shy, like to explore, and seem pretty smart, as chickens go. They ate the cucumber slice centers out while they traveled, and started eating and drinking pretty quickly upon arrival. They stick together and haven't integrated into the three Rhode Island Reds that arrived one day earlier and are just slightly larger. All 6 birds are gorgeous and we are happy with this addition to the flock.

Very fast shipping - notified they were at the post office 5 pm on Tuesday, arrived by 9 am Wednesday. We ordered 6 different varieties and our Buff Orpington is the friendliest. All pullets seemed healthy and were larger than I was expecting.

They are growing and are very talkative. I have them in 2 hexagonal playpens that are connected so they can run back and forth. Obviously the playpens have tops on them.

I have two of these breeds. They are truly sweet and loving. They hop up on my lap and enjoy treats. I absolutely love this breed and recommend it.

I ordered 6 chicks last August from MPC and they all arrived healthy. They are now laying beautiful and delicious eggs. My Buff Orpington is my favorite! She is absolutely the sweetest chicken and she follows me around and “talks” to me :)

Great layer - I get 5 to 6 eggs a week. My hen was shy when she first arrived but warmed up quickly and has blended into the flock with no problem other than a few pecks.
