Pullets: Buff Orpington Reviews

They are growing and are very talkative. I have them in 2 hexagonal playpens that are connected so they can run back and forth. Obviously the playpens have tops on them.

I have two of these breeds. They are truly sweet and loving. They hop up on my lap and enjoy treats. I absolutely love this breed and recommend it.

I ordered 6 chicks last August from MPC and they all arrived healthy. They are now laying beautiful and delicious eggs. My Buff Orpington is my favorite! She is absolutely the sweetest chicken and she follows me around and “talks” to me :)

Great layer - I get 5 to 6 eggs a week. My hen was shy when she first arrived but warmed up quickly and has blended into the flock with no problem other than a few pecks.

I can't speak as to the egg laying ability yet. However, I received a beautiful, healthy bird. My Pet Chicken even called to see if we needed to delay delivery because we were hit by Hurricane Harvey. I can't recommend them enough.

We ordered a 6 week old, BO pullet last August and she started laying at exactly 6 months of age. She is a GREAT layer, probably 5-6 days per week all through the winter. She did go broody when a neighbor didn't collect eggs for a few days while we were on vacation. Unless you want her sitting on eggs, you'll need to make sure to remove eggs the day they are laid.I was able to break the broodiness by taking her out of the nesting box a few times per day for a few days. In contrast to our Welsummer, who feels that no fence can hold her, our BO hen was content to stay behind even a 2 ft fence around her run. She's also a good forager. Very gentle
