“My 2 Frizzles arrived healthy and fast. They are beautiful birds! As to be expected they were a little timid at first but now they are thriving and I am able to cuddle with them. They have such a sweet personality and have become my favorites of the flock. Just don't tell the other chickens. If you are looking for gentle and unique looking birds then do not hesitate and buy your new feather babies. I LOVE mine!!!”
Shhhh, we won't let your secret be known to your other flock members! These little ones are obviously showing their wonderful personalities with you and we are so very happy to hear they are doing well and bringing you joy! We have noticed that most pullets and chicks need a bit of time after they first arrive to settle down from their journey and it is often recommended to provide what they need such as water & feed then just leave them be for a day - just peeking in to make sure they are ok. Normally after this period of time, they have recuperated and are ready to make proper introductions! Please let us know any time if you have any questions about your flock or their care needs. We are happy to help!
My Pet Chicken welcomes every customer's review and sharing of experiences as they are helpful in our continued efforts to make each purchase the best we are able for every flock keeper. We do our best to socialize the little ones prior to their reaching their new homes but most pullets do need a day or so to recover from their journey. We have reached out to you by separate communication with the hope that we are able to help!
“I bought a couple frizzles last year. Both looked great last season. This year one of them just can’t grow feathers and is mostly bald. We suspected a hard molt or maybe a rooster favorite. Separated her from the rest of the flock and put her in with some youngsters for a few months. Still isn’t growing any feathers. Suspecting she may be a frazzle which is so unfortunate and should not be allowed to happen. So sad for her.”
We're sorry to hear that your Frizzled Easter Egger is having a rough time, we've sent an email to you with more information. We breed frizzled roosters to smooth-feathered hens in our Frizzled Easter Egger flock. This produces a 50% rate of frizzling in offspring to ensure that none of the chicks hatched can receive two copies of this gene and suffer from negative consequences. When you purchase a day-old chick from the frizzled flock options we offer it states that each chick has a 50% chance of being frizzled - at a few hours old we simply can't tell if the chick has inherited the frizzle genetics. When we offer these same chicks as pullets however, these girls stay with us for 6 weeks. It's very obvious as early as two weeks who inherited the genetics for frizzled feathers and those that are smooth feathered, allowing us to safely split the chicks into two different groups. This is why every time we offer Started Pullets you'll find 100% Frizzled Easter Eggers or 100% Frizzle Bantam Cochins and also their smooth feathered siblings (in a separate listing.) This is the only ethical way to produce 100% frizzled birds for families that really want one.
Thank you so much for your review of the Frizzled Easter Eggers! As you know with Beaker, these little ones have a ton of personality and are absolutely adorable! Please let My Pet Chicken know any time if you have any questions or how we may be able to help you with any of your flock needs. We are here to help!
