“Ordered three of these as I could not decide what to get to go with my Opal Legbars, Im really happy with the variety I got, 1 Blue Laced Red Wyandotte girl, 1 Cream Legbar girl (her crest is huge and she is so fun to compare to the super light Opals!) and I think the last one is Black Copper Marans girl, she could be an Olive Egger too I won't know until she starts laying in a few months--either way a really fun surprise! All five girls traveled in less than 24 hours from OH to NC, they arrived still warm, so well packed and they were SO calm about the whole thing, I really thought they'd be a little more freaked out but I opened the box and they just let me pull them out one at a time without any fuss! (Last girl did flap her wings but she when I took her out and peeped at me (my CreamLegbar) but was the last one in the box so was probably more nervous wondering where everyone was going!
They acclimated to my pop up brooder in less then 30 seconds, drinking and eating before taking a nap together, they'll stay inside with me for a few days with our extra wet weather this week before eventually joining my Lavender Ameraucana that I raised from 24 hours old (also from My Pet Chicken).
I hesitated to get pullets the last three years with the extra cost, but OMG this was SO much easier than day-old chicks! (and the amount of time and money I would have spent on heating, chick starter, bedding, and chick shipping, I don't know why I didn't do this before! LOL) I'm already resisting placing a second order to grab one of those Black Ameraucana to go with my Lavenders!!”
