“By far my favorite breed we've ever had. The first black Australorp we had decided that since we didn't have a rooster, she was going to fill that role. She never laid but became the flock protector and was incredibly sweet and friendly to everyone. She actually died protecting her flock from a predator. We're now on our third Black Australorp and they've all been sweet and friendly, if a little shy sometimes. Highly recommend.”
