Thank you for taking the time to let us know how the little ones are doing! My Pet Chicken is grateful to have been able to help you! Please let us know how we can do so again in the future!
“This is a must for a mixed flock. Beautiful birds super healthy. Ours both lay dark brown chocolate colored eggs. My sister in law is jealous because hers don’t lay as dark as mine. MPC has good stock apparently. Consistent daily -every other day layers.”
Hello Daniel, Thank you for submitting this review of your Black Copper Marans. Our Marans are bred chiefly for egg color, with an additional view toward hardiness and the breed standard. You can expect your Black Copper Marans to lay an egg anywhere from dark brown, to deep reddish-brown, to medium brown with many dark speckles. Marans make wonderful pets, too - they are hardy, calm and quiet, and bear confinement well. They are said to be good foragers without being TOO destructive to your garden.
“Of the 4, one little one was DOA, another wobbly one seemed to be making a comeback with TLC, but died a few days later. The 2 remaining are now coming into their own, very pretty pullets. I am looking forward to seeing some chocolate colored eggs!”
We were able to cover your first loss under our 48 hour policy, and are sad to hear your weak one did not make it. Sometimes, even the best efforts to care for a weak chick may or may not help it pull through. However, it is wonderful to know your 2 remaining Black Copper Marans are doing well, and you will have some beautiful eggs soon!
“Friendly and knowledgeable service. Chicks arrived the day they were promised. I had to sign for the chicks which made me feel like My Pet Chicken cared if I received them. They were all healthy when they arrived and three weeks later they are all thriving and happy. Great experience.”
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your little ones are doing! We are so very happy to hear they are thriving and bringing you happiness! We also appreciate your kind words for My Pet Chicken and letting others know that we do not simply "say" that we care, we actually do :-) We hope to help with any of your flock needs in the future!
“She's healthy, friendly, and easygoing, but she will stand her grown when one of the other 8 chicks exhibits a pecking order. It's amazing that 1 week old chicks are already establishing their place in the flock. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow up.”
