“We orded a blue laced and ended up with the 25% Black laced. Her feathers are so gorgeous, the black is green/purple in the sun. She is the most lovely bird! She is the most sweet, calm and loving bird. She is trained to jump on my arm when I present it to her and she loves to do that and then get cuddles and treats. She is fluffy and soft. I am acclimating a new bird and she is the one I let out with her, she is the only one who won't peck or attack. We just love her!”
“I ordered one BLRW as part of a mixed flock of chicks back in the fall. Fern now looks almost exactly like the darker blue hen in the above picture. She is the lowest in the pecking order and a bit skittish, but very sweet. I am expecting her to start laying any day now as she‚Äôs 27 weeks. Pleased with this breed so far!”
“I was nervous when I started seeing feathering my my 6 hens and 2 roosters; none of them looked like they were blue! But my worry was for nothing as I ended up with two blue roosters, two blue hens, two splash hens, and two blacks. Very healthy birds and they juuuust started laying. Originally didn't want more than 8 but I've been bitten by the chicken bug, and now I'm thinking I'll let them hatch a few eggs out.”
“Three years ago my now-husband purchased three chicks for our five-year anniversary. One of which was a little blue-laced red wyandotte, Mora Moo. She was the sweetest of the bunch, and has grown into a beautiful, gentle, amazing hen. I absolutely adore her. She's a little low in the pecking order, but knows I will sneak her treats, so she follows me around and softly asks for them. I wish a few more in my flock had her temperament, if I'm being honest! She is a treasure.”
“I ordered to females of this breed approx. 2 years ago. One has coloring like a red laced Wyandotte and is beautiful. The other is has the blue on her more so than the picture representing this breed. She developed a crossed beak around 3 months of age. It has gotten more severe as time has gone on but she is very personable...probably because I baby her. I decided I did not want any peeps coming from her because am not sure of if this condition is genetic. So I let her roam with the flock and paid attention to where she liked to lay her eggs gathering them asap. However, she stopped laying this last spring for a while and I thoroughly checked her out thinking there was something wrong. Could not find anything. The she disappeared all together and I was very sad thinking the fox got her. To make a long story short she came back periodically and I could not find her or her nest she eventually came back with 6 very healthy peeps and all but 1 had her blue coloring. I am still surprised by her tenacity and intelligence. They can be a bit skittish this breed and I will say very vocal but endearing just the same I would order more and recommend these birds for family and pets as she is very personable with my 7 and 4 year old grandsons”
“My Blue Laced Red Wyandott is only 8 weeks old and is so pretty, and so sweet! She has a lot more blue in her lacing than the hen shown on the website. Beautiful, and sweet. What more could i ask for.”
