“Materials had some split boards, not all that high quality for outdoor use, but we'll see how it holds up. It did go together easily with the exception of screwing down the roof...hard to find the pre-drilled holes.”
“our old flock before we moved was 9, and we had the large original Gambrel Roof coop. This one is PERFECT for our three. They were new to it as we got them as chicks this Spring... so after a night in the run, we showed them how to use the ladder, they're pro's now!!”
“This coop is so much better made than one I purchased elsewhere, and super-cute details with color and trim. Putting it together was a breeze - predrilled holes, pegs to help with alignment. It's really roomy inside & two perches allow everyone (4-6 chickens) to pick their favorite spot.”
“Box arrived damaged and customer service was very helpful in getting an immediate replacement.
It’s a great coop, except for the mold growing all over it after a month. I didn’t anticipate having to paint it so soon.
Secondly, there was mention in reviews of a roost above the entry into the coop. Turns out that it was not a problem but exchanged for another.
The roof is too low for my chickens to roost on the roost bars. Ergo, making the roost bars ineffective.
The flooring was two separate wire mesh cloths that were held together by zip ties have already broken and separated-leaving open for predators to enter-easy fix, but again, it’s only been a month.
Ending on a positive note: we had a freeze last night and the girls are alive and well in this temporary coop/run.”
“The pull out tray and chicken ramp entrance to the coop is poorly designed. The result is a ramp that is constantly covered in poop because the roost bar is right above it. Additionally, ventilation is poor because the window is plexiglass with no way to open it. We had to add extra vents above the door. I also have the larger version of this coop, which has neither of these problems. I thought this coop would be a smaller version of the same, and was very disappointed when it was not. The entrance ramp could have been designed that same way as the larger version by giving up a nest box. This would leave 2 nest boxes, which is plenty for the number of chickens this coop is designed to house.”
“I can not say enough good things about this company. My package shipped in two separate boxes. I received the first box promptly, but the second never arrived. After emailing the company they gladly sent the second shipment ASAP. My coop is precious and plenty of room for my 7 free range chicks to sleep! It was not difficult to put together. I would, however, recommend a power drill as well as some wood glue. My girls have plenty of room in the run for the short amount of time they spent in it every day. They spend the majority of the day roaming. I would recommend this version of the coop to anyone!”
“I have not bought this product (yet) but I'm giving it five stars, because of how awesome this company is. Also, don't let bad reviews deter you from buying this. If you free-range your chickens several hours a day then this will be plenty of room for six chickens.”
