“This was the tiniest chick in my order and so cute.Unfortunately she passed the next day. After talking to one of the flock experts at MPC and troubleshooting it could have been my fault.Still love MPC!”
“I really wanted some small barred rocks and waited for them to become available. I had a standard 9 lb BR for 9 years and loved his personality and appearance. These are miniatures of the big guy that I had. I ordered 3 girls and ended up with 2 girls and 1 roo. MPC was very good in refunding for the error. It was pretty evident from day 1 when they arrived that I had a little boy in the midst. He was much larger than the other two and had a prominent spot on his head. 8 of 9 chicks being sexed correctly was a good ratio I thought, but he was pretty obvious, lol. Oh, well, I have always kept a roo and if I had to choose, I am glad it was the BR that was a male. They are all a bit timid and the girls started out as more dominant, but have ended up being lower on the totem pole in the flock. They have beautiful barring especially the roo, and the girls' feathers are very soft. Very nice looking birds and I am so glad that I was able to get them. All arrived healthy, but the two little girls were definitely the smallest of the bantams I ordered and needed careful care for a week. They are robust and healthy at 7 mos of age and were the first to start laying. They lay 6-7 days of the week. I would definitely get this breed of bantam again.”
“Our poor Gigi passed away at 3 days old. We hand fed her and took her to the vet when she was barely opening her eyes, but she passed in her sleep under her heater surrounded by her sisters. She was small and listless since we opened the box, and never ate or drank by herself. Maybe we will try again with this breed on our next order. She was the only one of 7 chicks to pass.”
“Tiny Independence (Penny for short) is a sturdy little bird with a surprisingly flute-like voice. We got her in June 2020 and even when she was small, she was happiest chasing little white butterflies out in the grass away from her siblings. She dislikes flying or having her feet off the ground, which we playfully call a fear of heights. She went broody twice the next summer, stopping after the first run to molt, and then once that was completed she went broody again. Tough little bird to do that! We are a little tight on space for our large flock of fifty-two chickens or we would have let her hatch some babies. She would have been a great mom, maybe she‚Äôll get another chance soon!”
“Our little Piccolo is just darling. She is a busy little girl and not afraid of anything. My only regret is I didn't get several more. She is very flashy and pretty and what a sweet disposition! Get some!”
