“My Buff Brahma Bantam (Idgie) is my favorite of the flock, hands down. She hops up on me whenever I get near for cuddles. She's a very chill girl. Happy to be handled, varying place on the pecking order it seems but hovers in the middle. Soft as heck. I adore her.”
“My order of baby chicks came in healthy, safe, and chirping, and Paprika was one of them! Her adorable brown baby coloring and her little feet feather tufts MELT MY HEART! She‚Äôs an absolute angel and adores being handled. The others can be a bit mean to her because she looks a little different, but she pecks right back! Holds her own, but is still a docile baby! Once she goes outside with her older, feathered-feet d‚Äôuccles sibling, I bet her bare-feet siblings will back off lol.”
“Our beloved Jokgu came from MPC and was a light in the world. So smart and quiet and a real joy. She lived only 5 years, but so much life in those years! ❤”
“At 17 weeks old and 3 pounds these are my most curious hens. Both are high up in the pecking order and are always on the hunt for the best food. Buttercup likes to cuddle when it suits her and wants to have a full on conversation with me in hen speak. If I feel a peck on my back I always know it's Lucy Lou. She's always exploring with her beak. Both are easy to pick up when they aren't preoccupied with food. Can be a bit pecky, but a flick of the index finger to the beak (as a peck back) has helped them to learn who is alpha hen. Love these two. Both are characters and big time communicators.”
“My previous review referred to my chick as a hen. Well, a couple weeks later, he bloomed and is, in fact, a rooster. Very friendly, outgoing little guy, he is the watchdog for my flock. At five months old, he runs to greet visitors and let them pet his glossy neck before running off to find more tasty bugs. Sometimes he brings me a fat earthworm. (appreciate the though, Seraphim, but I just don't like worms!)”
“My chicks are 6 weeks old today, and my buff Brahma hen is a lovely, inquisitive, entertaining young bird! She has a talent for catching flying insects and adores having her neck scratched, though she prefers to stay on the ground or a perch for scratches and not be held like my Cochins.”
