“Our Honeybun came to us in February of 2011, along with several other chicks, including a blue silky, Tinkerbell. At 11 yrs of age, Honeybun is the last living member of that group; her buddy Tinkerbell passed at 9 yrs. Most silkies tend to go broody often, but not Honey. Unlike Tinker, she wasn‚Äôt much of a lap bird, but she was a faithful layer of small cream eggs for many years (her laying years are long gone now).”
“Margie is a natural born mother. She is obsessed with being broody. We often have to pluck her off her nest to force her to enjoy her day outside of the nest box. She also has a glorious voice, a loud obnoxious sustained honk. Not the fondest of human love, but definitely fond of breaking into the house and stealing cat food.”
“She catches everyone's attention! They look like lil punk rockers w/puff heads:D w/purplish skin around the face. They are fast too! i named one of mine Punk Rocker/Punky”
“Tragically, after having my little female buff silkie poncho for approx.. 5 months she was attacked and killed by being pulled through the fence by a raccoon. In the short time I had her she made a HUGE impact on me though. She had this bold and bright personality. She was honestly my favorite chicken that I had, well over the ones I've had for years. I think about her all the time and cant wait to order another one this year. She was truly a special chicken and I wish I had gotten more time with her.”
“I ordered a Buff Rooster and he is just a little sweetheart. I have a young mix flock here grew up with and he‚Äôs like 3rd in cam and out of the roosters. They all crow together something so cute! Healthy boy and beautiful blue ears and Silkie feathers. By no means is he at the bottom of the pecking order. I think I‚Äôm each breed they have their own personality‚Äôs and My little Buffy comes running when he sees me coming out of the house! The normal antics of Chickens and Roosters! Thank you MPC fir another wonderful Flock of Docile friendly loving Birds!”
