Hatching Eggs: Our Friendliest Breeds Assortment, Hen Haven Location Reviews

3.8 Rating 15 Reviews
I waited almost a week after the scheduled hatch date (21 days) before I checked the eggs for life. I wait 30 days. Only three had signs of life. Two died right before hatch and the last one within the first week or so. None of them hatched.

I've been keeping a good eye on my incubator and the temps. But when I candled several of the eggs only three or four showed life. I got seventeen, counting the extra and mystery. None of the smaller eggs (bantam) eggs have any signs of life only a few of the larger eggs. I know it's because of the cold weather while shipping, but I was hoping som of the batam eggs would hatch.

Even though the shiftment was late because of the weather I was happy with how the eggs were wrapped. Not one was cracked. Plus I managed to get six eggs of the breed I most wanted and two extras. I was very happy and can't wait for the little fluffies to hatch and see what I managed to get.

I am giving this 3 stars because of the great customer service. There was a mix up with my tracking number being listed as my order number but I called and was given the tracking number as well as emailed back. One egg was received cracked which was okay because I received one extra anyways. This isnt my first time incubating eggs but this is my first order from My Pet Chicken. If the 6 eggs incubated only one was viable and hatched. I know the hatch rates vary but my students were expecting more than one at least. They were at least excited that the only colored egg we received is the one that hatched though! (Olive egger)

Only one egg was fertile and in my high quality mini advance incubator with perfectly maintained temp auto-turn and humidity the only viable egg died as well

Last year we got 3 Mille Fleur Bantams. They are the sweetest birds you could hope for. Lovely with children and happy all the time. They began to lay at about 6 months, at least 4 eggs per week. Highly recommend this breed, and I'm a first-timer - they made me into a chicken lover for sure!
