“Relatively easy to put together, pretty sturdy and adorable. I bought it for my bantam Cochin to stay in since she was getting picked on and she seems quite happy. She has lots of room inside with two perches and two nesting boxes. There is Easy access to the ‚Äúgreat room‚Äù as well as the nesting boxes for cleaning. The entire roof opens for more access, although there is no lock on the roof for protection. I just used two eye hooks and a beaner clip to keep the two roofs locked together. I have only had it for about two months and have yet to go through a winter with it so I can‚Äôt say how long it will last. If you live somewhere with a lot of predators you might want to secure the wire cloth a little more Since it‚Äôs only stapled on the inside. There is not much space for food and water bowls inside without them getting in the way of ranging. I would also stain/treat it against moisture (sometime I didn‚Äôt do). A solid purchase.”
“The clubhouse is a great choice for backyard chickeners...as long as you only want 3 chickens. I think trying to force any more than that would be rough...this thing is pretty small.
But it is super well made. All the parts we needed were included.
The directions were EASY to follow.
We went ahead and stained it before assembly - highly recommended.”
“Our 10 year old granddaughter is showing Buff Bantam's for her project, with only 3, she just needed a small area to care for these chicks and begin to learn how to clean and later collect eggs. This Coop is perfect, easy to assemble, keeps them safe and easy to clean. Very pleased.”
“If you‚Äôve assembled IKEA furniture then you k ow what you are I. For with this...simple instructions with letters referring to parts and screw types. I managed to assemble the chicken whole thing in 2.5 hours with a 2-year old ‚Äúhelping‚Äù me. The wood is thin and can crack easily... so inspect your parts and be careful tightening the screws. My kiddo snuck I side the coop and tried to walk up the ramp...and it promptly cracked. I was able to repair the ramp with some Gorilla Glue and a pair of extra long wood screws. The inside has stayed dry after a few nights of a rain, so this looks like it will last for a few years.”
“I purchased the coop with 1 additional run. So far I'm really happy with it. It wasn't too hard to put together. I put a few coats of sealer on it since I live in a very rainy climate. My chicks are still too little to use it outside but after they were 2 weeks old, I converted the run piece I purchased into a bigger brooder for them to use (the plastic bin they we're in before was getting too cramped). So it was nice to get that additional use out of it. I am planning on fully enclosing it in a larger run because we get bears and other wildlife in our area and I'm not sure if this alone would keep the chickens safe. Plus, as stated on the website, it is not meant for full time confinement. But for the price I am very happy with the quality.”
“The coop s very well made and went together fairly easily. It's a very attractive and functional coop. The four star rating is due to the size. My hens will be 6-7 pounders and there really isn't room for 4 as stated in the description.”
“The coop worked great for a time, lovely in fact. Then that dreaded predator came and was so determined that even though we had the mesh flooring, double locked runs, and coop door closed, it got the roof open and preyed on our 5 beautiful hens. Such a sad day, please spare yourself the heartache and buy a true predator proof one. The description here is not accurate in its predator protection.”
