“I ordered a The Clubhouse Coop with run when I was adding chicks to my flock. I needed a separate and safe place for them to stay. It looks lovely and was easy to assemble. However, the windows had trouble opening and the ramp broke off!! This was remedied in the new version of the coop, so I got another hoping that all the issues were taken care of. The plexiglass windows are a wonderful improvement. They slide to open easily no matter the weather (the older model had wooded sliding parts which swelled and didn't budge!) The new ramp holds on well, and is a relief!
But the other problem, which remains is that the roof - the plywood under the lovely shingled room - molds and rots! This has not changed. I will need to replace the roof of both the coop and the nesting box shortly. Not sure what I will use, but it'll have to be something like solid rubber to accommodate the weather, snow, rain, and sun. T
This is very disappointing, as it is so lovely, and the 'yard' is so helpful, but even that portion of the roof molds and rots.”
“Nice coop for 4 hens if you order the additional run extension. The only area for improvement is the door latch hardware, which is the smallest and tightest possible size, allowing zero tolerance for uneven ground or inevitable settlement. Fine if you‚Äôre installing on level concrete I suppose, but unrealistic for typical yard conditions over time. When I get fed up with the lifting and tugging, I‚Äôll upgrade to bigger/looser latches.”
“Love this site for buying chicks, but, I have to be honest. This coop is a piece of junk. Where to begin? First, the wood is almost as thin and light as balsa wood. I'm afraid I'll break the nesting box lid every time I lift it up. Second, I put two coats of wood sealer on it, and not only is the roof warping, but there's mold growing under the nesting box lid. Now, one of the joints of the door is coming loose. Yeah, I can glue it, but I shouldn't have to.
I know a lot of people have mentioned how small it is. That's not the issue for me. The description gives the measurements for it. But the construction of it is not worth the price or the hassle of putting it together only to see it warp a couple months later.
Do yourself a favor and go to Tractor Supply and buy one of their coops. I got a bigger coop with stronger wood for $50 more that this coop, plus free delivery.”
“At first I was so excited to get that clubhouse before buying 4 hens.
Then i was not very happy because of many problems:
1. it is very small for 4 hens. it should be only 2 hens.
2. the wood is so cheaper and very thin and the hardware is so too thin to hold the wood.
3. after too many rains the roof wood spilt !!!
4. the ladder broke , really broke and my son had to add new wood.
5.too many draft and the wood is not well designed. it must be sealed well together.
6. the perch is too close the egg nest and the hens made poops right in the egg nest.
I recommend anyone NOT to buy that clubhouse at all!!

“I purchased my two original Club House coups in 2014 and 15. If you treat them with products like Thompson water sealer you can get them to last. I bought two more to replace the originals and they are nice coups for the money. These new ones arrived undamaged and are fairly easy to assemble with good hardware, good instructions and all the parts labeled. My only complaint with the old ones is the poop trays. They tended to corrode all the way through every couple of years and replacements with shipping are fairly expensive. I don't know I these poop trays have a different metal sheet. They are cute looking coups and having the nesting boxes accessible from the outside is a huge bonus. They are easy to clean, weekly.”
“The design, materials and manufacturing are great. It went together without a problem. The only down side is that it is much smaller in person than it appears in the website picture. Barely enough room for two chickens.”
