This chick heater is great. We've had chicks several times and wish I would have got this heater a long time ago. A little pricey but the deluxe kit was worth it.

The chick heater plate is very convenient and the chicks seem to love it. Wish I'd purchased one sooner.

Thank you for your comments, Bill. The Farmight Chick Heater is absolutely a game changer for many flock keepers who previously used heat lamps. As you see, with the plate, the worry of dangerous fires and accidentally light pops is over. With the plate, all you need to do is plug it in and watch the chicks gather under it! We are so glad that you are happy with the plate and hope you use it for many years and many new broods!

Item arrived with a slight dent in the side which I'm hoping isn't a fire hazard. There are zero instructions, so I think it's very easy to set up but that's assuming you don't mind googling the item. We will see how it actually works for our two week old chicks who've outgrown their small brooder. Zero instructions or safety notes for an electronic item was a surprise to us.

First time using heater plate. The instructions were a bit confusing. Black plastic side goes up. I don't like this style, because I can't monitor the health of the weaker chicks. Not bad as a backup heater if you have to split your flock up. I put the healthy chicks with the heater plate, and a traditional heat lamp for sick bay.

Diana, Thank you for your feedback. After using a heat lamp, heater plates may take time to adjust to, but we assure you that it is worth it. The safety considerations because heat lamps start so many fires, the automatic temperature that doesn't need monitoring, and the cost savings over the red bulb, are just a few reasons newbies and seasoned owners alike have come to love them. We often suggest to customers that you cant the roof by making the legs different lengths. This way you can see under better and it allows for chicks of different sizes to get exactly the heat they need. Please call us if you have questions, we are here to assist you and are eager to help.
