“I purchased from MPC in April of 2018 and bought 4 rare breed assortments. One arrived dead (which was refunded), and the rest were: 1 Columbian Wyandotte, 1 Olive Egger, and 1 Cream Legbar. Initially, the cream legbar suffered from a leg problem and couldn't walk properly for weeks...cheeping constantly. We lovingly named her "Chit Chat" because of all the peeping. She has matured to be completely normal (although very skittish) and now lays us BIG and beautiful blue eggs. We have easter eggers that lay blue eggs, but Chit Chat's eggs are noticeably a more rich blue color. I get probably 4 eggs from her a week and couldn't be happier. I am going to pay full price and order another one this year because I've been so pleased with her. Very happy with my choice last year to try the value-priced rare breed assortment first. Thanks MPC!”
“My Cream Legbar looks just like the one in the photo. She‚Äôs very pretty and started laying gorgeous aqua blue eggs at 22 weeks. She is friendly and a great forager but she is noisy! Fingers crossed the neighbors don‚Äôt complain!”
“I had ordered a coupe of rare breed chicks and had to throw in some Easter Eggers to keep everyone warm. I got a bunch of nice healthy chicks, as usual. Imagine my surprise when my 2 "Easter Eggers" ended up being Cream Legbars. I'm not sure why or how it happened, but what crazy incredible hens these are! You are going to make me buy a Cream Legbar Roo now! Thank you AGAIN My Pet Chicken!”
“My Cream Legbar is just barely 5 months old and the first of my girls to lay! She is absolutely the most beautiful girl! Larger than I expected her to be, she's the same size as my Australorp, Buff Orp and Brown Leghorn, all ordered at the same time from MPC. I'm hoping that her egg size gets a bit bigger as she matures, the first few are on the small side. The eggs are just a hint of blue. Very happy with her and the other birds from MPC.”
“After hours of reading and reviewing, we finally decided to purchase the Crested Cream Legbars for our tiny flock. We ordered only THREE day old chicks - two Cream Legbars and one Buff Orpington. I would have liked to purchase all three Legbars, but the budget would not allow it. We placed our order to be shipped on the last date possible when buying only three. We stressed a great deal over the well being of these three tiny lives, but the three arrived on 29 November! All three alert and very vocal. Not happy about being in the dark box, I would imagine. So - our first ever experience in ordering chicks went as well as an order could go. All three arrived healthy. We named our CLB's Gracey and LittleBit. Gracey started laying at 22 weeks, LittleBit at 23 weeks. Both lay a blue/green egg. LittleBit has had a rough time learning to lay, she has given us 2 eggs a day, she has given us several eggs with no shell, and a handful of blue eggs with double yolks! Hopefully, it is just new layer issues and she will be fine? Gracey has always been so laid back and sweet. LittleBit, always getting into something she is not supposed to - but both will squat and allow us to pet them or pick them up. Since we only purchased three chicks - the shipping ($55) was too high to make them a good deal, BUT, we got what we asked and paid for! More than I can say with the local breeders that we have tried since this order. We have recommended MyPetChicken to several friends. THANKS for the beautiful birds. Buffey started laying at 23 weeks and is dong fine also.”
“We live in a city that allows only a small number of hens, so we have 6 different breeds. Our cream legbar is by far the family favorite. Always friendly, likes to be held. She even allows my 3 year old to catch and hold her. She was also the baby chick that got along well with everyone - we had some pecking problems and she kept the picked on chick company. Love my birds and I‚Äôm especially fond of our cream legbar.”
“I have two CLB‚Äôs (Queenie and Bessie) and they are sweet, mild chickens. They don‚Äôt like to be held but will follow and stay close to me. They are a little nervous but not overly so. Queenie‚Äôs eggs are green for now but she just started laying so I‚Äôll hold off judgement. Bessie‚Äôs eggs are sky blue. They have delightful combs and waddles and the picture above doesn‚Äôt do the breed justice. They lay nearly everyday and mine do lay in the nesting boxes. Love this breed and will get more in the future.”
“Her eggs are abundant and a lovely color, though a bit small for her size. Her coloring is, to me, rather dull, though I must admit the beret is cute. As for personality, she's an intelligent hen but unsociable with humans and rather a bully toward her fellow chickens. When another hen went broody, she insisted on chasing her off the nest and guarding it herself, even though she was not broody and there were plenty of other nests. One time I saw her catch and eat a mouse, which was... impressive. All in all, though we love her eggs, I think next time I would choose an Easter Egger instead.”
