“Our cream legbar (who recently passed at almost 4 years old) was an odd one. Healthy from the day she arrived and fantastic, consistent layer of beautiful medium blue eggs. She was tolerant of the other chickens and of my kids. But for some reason, she absolutely hated me and was just so mean! I couldn't go out in the yard without her chasing me down to peck me. We haven't ordered another out of concern that it would take a dislike to one of the kids or one of the other chickens.”
“Both of the Legbar chicks arrived dead in the box - we had a total of 8 dead out of 12 that we ordered. The chicks arrived quickly and we picked them up within 30 minutes of getting the call from the post office. Doubt we'll order chicks in the mail again. We had several die in a Fall order as well despite ten years of positive experiences with My Pet Chicken. I'm not sure if it's an issue with them or the Post Office, but I'd rather just get them locally and not deal with the loss due to shipping.”
