“Baby chicks arrived safe and healthy. All are doing well and starting to get white wing feathers. We love our full grown Delaware hens because they are so friendly and lay well.”
“my Delaware hens are really sweet they don't like to be handled which is fine by me. they love to free range they aren't loud birds they should start laying really soon i cant wait!”
“Absolutely love my Delaware. She is one of the sweetest birds in my flock, always taking care of the rest of my birds. She constantly is grooming everyone else trying to help out. She has the purest heart, following me everywhere and always having an upbeat, happy attitude. However, she has a fierce side to her making her the top bird in my pecking order! Everyone says that she reminds them of an eagle, her eyes and the speckled neck feathers. She's a fabulous layer, laying eggs daily. Would highly recommend this bird if you're looking for a kind leader in your flock that is an abundant layer!”
“We have a small mixed breed flock of 5 breeds - including 1 Delaware. Snowy is very very docile. The easiest to catch from the getgo and doesn‚Äôt mind being held. Even though she is the biggest of the pack, she is kind of at the bottom of the order - always at the back of line, always behind the flock as they free range. It‚Äôs really funny. But she doesn‚Äôt care - she just moseys along. Has not started laying yet and she‚Äôs six months old. I don‚Äôt know if I would buy another Delaware just because she hasn‚Äôt started laying.”
“We love the Delaware chick that we raised from MPC but she is noisy and lacking some chicken life skills. She gets lost several times a day from the rest of the flock and makes a racket until one of the other hens finds her or she finds them. She is beautiful and sweet, but noisier than our rooster! She almost sounds like a duck!”
“I purchased 15 Delawares and 15 New Hampshire Reds about 3 years ago. All the chicks arrived in excellent condition. These were purchased for the express purpose of increasing our laying flock. They have not disappointed. They are currently in their lull period going through a normal molt. We have only lost 2 or 3 and those to predators, common in our area. We are very pleased with the purchase and anticipate replacing them with the same breed in 2 years.”
