“Not sure how good it is for them, but whenever I put more dookashi in their bedding, the chickens spend more time in the coop, digging through the bedding to eat the dookashi.”
“I live in town so I have a smaller coop. I adopted 4 2 year old battery cage rescue hens. They were sleeping cuddled up in the nest boxes at night. I was changing the litter weekly, but by the end of the week the smell was almost overwhelming. Then I found this stuff. It does a very good job of keeping the odor down, although I still clean it out every week. I bought a composer to throw it all in, very excited to see how that works out. Best news...1 of the hens has started roosting and 1 of the hens sleeps with her on the ledge (daily cleanable) that the roost sits over. 2 hens still cuddle in one of the nest boxes. We‚Äôre getting there! Very rewarding experience. My recommendation is to adopt some battery cage rescue hens and stock up on lots of Dookashi!”
