“15 female chicks arrived safely. had a 3 that seemed to have leg issues. called CS and was given advice on how to correct problem. 2 days later, CS called to check on progress and informed me that I would be reimbursed for all 3 chicks even though 1 seemed better. CS wanted me to know that they stand behind all of their shipments & were sorry for the extra effort I had put into correcting the leg issues. Could not have been more impressed with their integrity. a month later, and I have 13 beautiful babies. (I did lose 2/3 that were not well upon arrival.) Order with confidence. These people care about their business and their babies.”
Thank you so very much for your kind words for our Flock Care Specialists and your review of the Dark Brahma babies! We are so very happy your baby chicks are doing well and that the guidance helped them with their splay leg! We absolutely care about them as well as their new keepers and strive to do all we can for them and you! We are so glad that you found My Pet Chicken!
“Like others have said, the pictures on the website don‚Äôt do justice. My dark Brahma, Peanut, is absolutely stunning, and adorably fluffy. She is also sweet, funny and a dependable layer. A great addition to the flock. I wish I had room for more!”
“Ophelia is about 7 weeks old and just keeps getting prettier and prettier. I have a light Brahma and a buff Brahma. Based on the pictures, I would have thought this dark Brahma would be my least favorite. Wrong! She is BEAUTIFUL!!! Not as cuddly as the buff but the biggest and prettiest of the three. She is friendly, just not teddy bear like. No complaints though.”
“If I was only allowed one chicken, I would have to pick Brahma. She is the sweetest and the most gentle of all our birds. She is beyond cute with her huge fluffy butt and her feathered legs. She is kind to all the others and yet still at the top of the pecking order. She looks like an eagle, extremely beautiful! She laid her first egg at nine months old. I had read Brahmas lay medium eggs, but hers are definitely large, starting with the very first one. They are much bigger than the other hens that have been laying for four months already. If her size is a concern in mixing her with smaller chickens, worry not because she is kind to everyone! We have a little Hamburg and they are good friends.”
“We had two ordered and one did not make it first 2 days so sad. However, the one that did survive the trip we named her what I saw when she first came out of the box, Goodness Gracious, I said she was one big beautiful chick. Got her in August and has already gotten much bigger than the other 31 birds ordered with her. She is not a bully at all very sweet hen very calm, she has been a lap dog hen since a week old wants to be held. Now, she sits on your foot if wants attention to be picked up, pretty funny girl. Going to order more when they get back in stock, enjoying her so much. We're just so very sorry we lost her sister. They are a beautiful coloring, quite striking to see a real one, and so glad we ordered this breed she is magnificent!”
“Miss Valise (she doesn‚Äôt speak French, so she‚Äôll never get the joke) is already a full head taller than her flockmates, and she uses that height to size me up from the far side of objects: whether it‚Äôs her waterer, the suspended heater, the perches; her head is usually suspended above, and she‚Äôs side-eyeing me with great suspicion.
I thought for sure she’d be the Queen Bee because of her size, but her bantam “sister” Swimsuit has her running scared so far. This could all change once sizes get finalized, but to date, no one is going to accuse her of being brave. She does have some status based on her proclivity to accidentally stomp on her sisters while running in terror, but they’ll likely see through that eventually.
Her feathers are already stunning and richly detailed, sort of like tipsily seeing a Louis Vuitton suitcase from a distance (hence her name.) She‚Äôs a lovely, slightly timid sweetheart, who narrowly escaped being named Bovine, so she‚Äôs already lucky. We pretty much adore her.”
