The Dominques are a great addition to any backyard flock and we hope we are able to help our fellow flock keepers in establishing their comeback as one of the more popular breeds! They were a favorite at one time as they are not only a great breed but also have benefits other than their personality and eggs - their feathers are so soft, keepers used them for pillows and batting in quilts! “I purchased Dominiques back in June. They are lovely and quirky birds that my family have fallen in love with. They are beautiful and really enjoy free ranging in our yard. We are excited for them to start laying eggs in a few months but in the meantime, they have been incredible pets. They peck at my Mom's door on the lower level daily (at around 3 PM) for some snacks and will run up to say hi to me and my husband whenever we are outside. They don't enjoy being held and tolerate me petting them, but generally love being around us and my children.”
“Of the two ordered one clearly has wing deformities and is not growing or thriving the same as the second one. After a week it has hardly grown and is half the size. While have to move normally it is clearly stunted and doubt it will live a very long life if it makes it to adulthood.”
