Hatching-Eggs: Eggs for Education Reviews

I am so happy that we are able to order from My Pet Chicken. It has been a while and I remember having much success with their eggs. The packaging was secure and each egg was carefully wrapped. They were shipped on Friday and we received them on Tuesday. Unfortunately, and I know that a viable egg is not guaranteed, but we only have three out of seven eggs that show an embryo. The others are only yolk, but I will give them a little longer since they are bigger eggs.

It was the first time that I hatched eggs. I bought 6 and received 7, of course the week they shipped was super cold. The eggs arrived in perfect shape. Due to the cold while shipping to Washington state they did take 3 to 4 extra days to hatch. Five out of seven hatched. They are so cute and the students are so excited to see them everyday. It was a fun experience and I would do it again.

I ordered 12 eggs and received 14 which was great but unfortunately 1 was cracked. It was fun to look over the sheet with my daughter to see what kind of eggs we got. On the 4th day in the incubator I heard a pop. I thought the incubator may have died so I took a look. What I found was 4 eggs with holes in them and an extremely stinky ooze everywhere. The next day 3 more eggs had exploded. The following day it happened to 1 more. We ended up with 3 chicks out of the whole ordeal so I gave the review 1 star for each fluffy butt in the brooder box.

Success rate was 1 chick out of 13 eggs! I ordered 6 eggs the first time, and only one chick hatched (healthy and doing well), got 7 eggs the second try and nothing even started to fertilize! I candled on day 7,9, and lastly on day 15- not one blood vessel seen on any egg- and I know what Im looking for. The incubator was at perfect settings the whole time, eggs were turned 3-5 times a day. I can only think it’s from being shaken too much from shipping or I wasn’t given fertilized eggs. Save yourself some time and money and find someone local with fertilized eggs!

I ordered same hatching eggs for education back in 2017 and all eggs hatched back then. Ordered them again 2020 and none of the eggs even started to develop. Kids are disappointed.

My son's first grade class did a hatch project and I purchased this assortment (12 eggs) for them to use. I received 14 eggs, which was perfect because our incubator had room for 14. We followed the instructions on the site. We candled half way through and could tell that four eggs weren't developing at all. We went into lockdown with ten eggs and eight hatched. All healthy and adorable. We have a good variety of chicks including a naked neck! The kids think the naked neck is hilarious. We had one bantam Cochin hatch a day late and the kids cheered so hard for the little guy when he finally emerged! Overall a wonderful experience!

I ordered the eggs for education for homeschool learning. I ordered 6 eggs and received 7 but one had a peck mark crack in it and had to be thrown out. The others were immediately placed in the Brinsea auto advance incubator. Of the remaining 6, only 2 began developing. The others were tossed out of the incubator this week. I know shipped eggs can't be "guaranteed", but it is still disappointing. Fingers crossed for these last 2 eggs!
