We were sorry to see in your review of the Exchequer Leghorn from last year's order that you have concerns regarding Marek's in your flock! We know how concerning that is for any flock keeper! Marek's Disease is present worldwide. It's spread by bird-to-bird contact from sharing feed or water dishes or from shed dander from infected birds. If you live in an area where Marek's is prevalent, we recommend you get your chicks vaccinated to protect them. We hope you have seen the communication we sent to you recently and that the information was found to be helpful for you and your flock. Please let us know if we can assist you further with any questions or concerns.
We are always so thankful to hear the little ones are doing well and bringing their flock keepers such happiness! Please let us know if we can help you in the future with any of your flock care needs and if you have any questions. We are happy to help!

“I received my exchequer leghorn in a flock with five other chicks. During the first few days, my tiniest chick was crying a lot and not eating much, so I offered all of them some sugar water. Everybody has been fine ever since!”
We are so happy to hear your little one has settled in well! Sometimes their journey can be a bit stressful and it may take a day or two for them to calm down and begin to enjoy their new home. The sugar water is a great way to boost their energy and help them recover! Your babies are so cute and we truly appreciate you sharing your wonderful photo!
What a wonderful review of a beautiful breed. Thank you for showing the roosters some love, too. Not all leghorns are flighty and the Exchequers are sure to be a family favorite when raised with lots of attention. We hope you get lots of big white eggs from this cutie pie!
