Thank you Ellice for your review! The Frizzled Easter Eggers are so much fun to have in your flock. Please keep in mind that 50% of hatchlings will be frizzled. We breed frizzled roosters to smooth-feathered hens, which produces a 50% rate of frizzling in offspring. We hope your girls have beautiful curled feathers!
“This is my first Frizzle. Her feathers started to curl within a few days of arrival. She is curious, bold and smart. She actually enjoys being held! She is a little too fast to get a good photo. I assume she will be similar to my Easter Eggers. Heat and cold tolerant, a good forager and so friendly.”
Thank you for taking the time to review our little ones and sharing that adorable video of your babies! They are precious! Please let us know any time if you have any questions or if we can assist you with any of your flock care needs - My Pet Chicken is happy to help!
“I have learned since ordering that frizzle chickens often suffer from feather loss especially around the neck area. It usually occurs after the first year and never recovers. Mine was no exception and now looks like it got its neck plucked clean. Still laying regularly but everyone asks if she’s sick. Wouldn’t purchase again for that fact alone.”
We are sorry to hear that your babies did not receive the frizzle genes but happy to hear how beautiful they have turned out anyway and in good health! Please let us know any time if you have any questions - My Pet Chicken is truly happy to help!
We are so very happy to hear your little ones are doing great and they inherited the frizzles! These babies are so adorable to have in a flock and we hope they will bring you many years of happiness!
“I ordered 3, it's a 50/50 chance of a frizzle, but all 3 are regular EE's. Not the hatchery fault. ****update**** I actually recieved 4cand one is a frizzle!!! Woohoo!”
Yes, there is a 50% chance that any frizzle may not not inherit the hoped for gene. We are hopeful since your babies are about a week old, that you may begin to see some upturned feathers coming in. Usually it will be very apparent within 14 days so we have our fingers crossed for you!
