Baby Chicks: Frizzle Easter Egger Female Reviews

4.7 Rating 65 Reviews
I ordered three female frizzle Easter Eggers and they all arrived healthy and doing well. They are now 5 months old and I believe at least one of them has started laying. Out of the 3, only one had the frizzle feathering. Also out of the 3, one was not sexed correctly and ended up being a rooster (luckily not the same one). He was a really beautiful rooster but unfortunately we live in a suburb where keeping him wasn't possible. It took a few weeks but I was able to relocate him to a farm outside the city. Based on these odds, I would say a minimum of 3 is best if you're hoping for a frizzled hen!

We're glad you're loving your Frizzled Easter Eggers! We do disclose that you have about a 50% chance of getting a frizzled chick due to the breeding limitations on frizzles, so it doesn't hurt to order 2 or 3 if you want to increase your odds of getting frizzled feathering. As for the rooster you received, we're so sorry for the error on your order! We have reached out directly regarding your rooster.

Ordered 2, got one brown with the cutest little cheeks and one yellow. They are a week old today and the 50% turned out to be exact with our two. The little yellow is frizzled and our little cheeks is not, would be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly disappointed but I’m glad we got one! They have such strong personalities already and are such goofy little babies. I adore them both, they are happy and healthy and they will be very loved.

Chick arrived happy and healthy. She still is, but unfortunately does not have the frizzle gene. We love her, of course, anyway. We were just looking to add more silly looking chickens to our coop. Lol maybe next time.

I ordered two females, and one is doing well. The other died. However, I have one from last year that is doing well, so having a cousin in the coop will make for fun times.

Thank you Heather for leaving a review on your Frizzle Easter Egger chicks. Remember, 50% of hatchlings will be frizzled. We hope your chicks will be frizzled, but either way they are wonderful chicks.

I have had a backyard flock for a few years now and am learning more and more as I go. I really wanted to buy chicks from local breeders and hatcheries, but it's difficult to find the more unusual breeds and also difficult to find someone who will sex baby chicks. So due to this and some miscommunication with locals, and despite my reluctance to deal with shipping live animals, I broke down and reluctantly ordered chicks online through MPC. I ordered 1 EE Frizzle, 1 Austra White, 1 Blue Copper Marans, 1 Red Star, and 1 Super Blue to add to my small backyard flock. I was anxious that they would arrive dead or unhealthy. The shipment tracking did a good job of updating me when they'd been packed and shipped, and I believe the chicks were inside of their package for less than 36 hours total, despite being shipped across multiple states. My local post office knew in advance that they were coming, and called me the minute they arrived. They arrived happy and healthy. I was delighted with their condition and the quality of the container and way that they were safely shipped. They are now a month old and are thriving. It's still a bit too early to tell, but they all give early evidence of being sexed correctly as female. I will not officially add them to the existing flock for another couple of months, but there have already been moments when they've been allowed to free-range side-by-side with the adults and there's already signs of acceptance from the adult chickens. So I'm now a believer! As much as I enjoy supporting locals, this is just too good of an alternative choice in terms of being able to find interesting breeds, being able to order them as female only, and in terms of the quality and health of the birds that arrived. The next time I need to replace chickens to my flock, I will be ordering from MPC. 5 stars; very happy!
