Hatching Eggs: Fun & Funky (a.k.a. chickens of Instagram), Hen Haven Location Reviews

4.4 Rating 38 Reviews
I purchased three and received three. Only one hatched and its very cute and healthy. One egg you couldn't even see the yolk when candled and one was alive and well up until I realized a detached air cell. The only problem I really had was that each egg was labeled with a code (along with the FF code) and when I asked what it meant they said they could not tell me because they get creative with the labeling. For example, one egg was labeled FF CB. I know I ordered an assortment but if it is labeled with something and I am sent a coding sheet then I would expect to be able to know what it is based off of the sheet. Oh well, still cute and healthy so that is all that matter. I will be trying this again in the future!

Purchased 6 Fun and Funky eggs and was sent 7! Shipping was fast and they were packaged nicely, no cracks. Incubator was a Brinsea Mini Advance, flawless. At day 8 two eggs were removed due to no development. At day 20 the smallest egg hatched an adorable bantam. And the remaining 4 hatched at day 21! 3 are Easter Eggers but not sure what the others are. All seem healthy and are doing great. I definitely recommend these hatching eggs! Now I get to see what they will grow into! I’ve also just ordered 6 more !!

I got several of these, but a few had detached air cells from transit & I also had a humidity issue, (which is to no fault of the hatchery) that resulted in some egg losses. the ones that did hatch out were incredibly amazing.

I ordered 12 eggs and received 14. Only 3 hatched but they are perfect. All 3 look to be a different type so far. My one complaint is it seems my eggs shipped the Saturday before Memorial Day and I wasn’t able to pick them up until Tuesday morning. My incubator was kept perfect so I feel my hatch rate may be because of the wait at the post office. I did not receive any tracking information until after I had picked them up from my post office.

I ordered 3 and was given 4 and out of those four, three of them hatched into cute and healthy little chicks. I can’t yet tell their breeds/types but they are all Bantams that I got (which I request) and I’m super happy with them. I’d also like to note that I got them specifically for a broody hen I had and she did an awesome job incubating them and now raising these babies. Can’t wait to see how they develop and what they look like as adults.

I got my order in December, of fun and funky babies. I requested that I DO get a turken/ naked neck- to which I ended up with the most beautiful fluffy yellow naked neck. I wish I could upload a photo. I ended up with an extra egg. I had a 25% hatch rate with only one of four hatching. Two were infertie and one a quitter. But I was having a humidity issue that I wasn’t aware of at the time with my incubator. BUT despite my incubator malfunction, and despite the fact these chicks shipped the first week of Jan in the bitter cold, I had a 100% hatch rate with my three mystery chicks. I got a big blue baby that I believe to be a favacauna, a stunning yellow- very fluffy baby with feathered feet but doesn’t seem to be batam (I mean lots of fluff. Super cute) and I had one malpositioned little chick that had a hell of a time and a 48 hours+ hatch that ended up being a full assist. When the chick first hatched there was an issue with the leg as the foot was under the beak and stuck out with the beak at pip on the wrong end. It didn’t look good BUT i am proud to tell you that this one ended up the sweetest little chick with feathered feet and legs, also seemingly a large fowl chick. I am leaning towards blue Cochin. Maybe a Cochin cross. Either way, the personality on these chicks is darling. All four are as cute as they are sweet. Concurrently, I had other eggs in the bator with them- to which I didn’t get more than a 25% hatch rate on so all things considered I am super happy being my mystery chicks were 100% hatch rate. Very rare with shipped eggs. If I had a 30-50% with shipped eggs I’d be happy. But 100% meets and exceeds my expectations. You can see them online at Instagram under native.colors.exotics.turkeys with #mysterychick
