As beginners, the first thing we learned was the importance of getting the brooder temperature just right, & this thermometer kept our minds at ease straightaway.”
“What I like: Its cheap, so I don't care if the birds poop on it. It gives a general idea of the temperature.
What I don't like: it is not accurate, its not even consistent. My brooder is in a temperature controlled room and I have a heat lamp. The temp according to this thermometer fluctuates by up to 10 degrees, which is not correct according to two other thermometer sources I have. It was helpful when first setting up the brooder to make sure I had roughly the right temperature. My chicks are now 3 weeks old, and I feel that watching the chicks and seeing how they act (warm/cold) is a better indicator of correct brooder temp.”
