“It was so easy to put together and just as easy to clean. Love it and my gals love it. It's cozy inside so they stay warm and with three different roosts they can get away from each other. The vents are great to open for the hot summer nights.”
“It‚Äôs a wonderful coop overall. The double insulated plastic is thinner than I would have liked, though super easy to clean. When it was delivered (after 6+ weeks) it was a little damaged so a bit hard to put it together. The design of the coop is great and getting a happy home for our chickens was our goal.”
“Our 7 layers adopted this new coop very quickly and appear to love it. Assembly was very easy and quick as the parts merely snapped together. I learned that a medium sized pan head screwdriver was needed to help persuade a few of the tabs into their slots. The design is very good; they even provided carabiners to secure all openings. The coop is light enough for two people to easily carry. I modified their suggested design for the pedestal by adding knee bracing for added strength and stability. The pedestal can still be carried by one man. I also added ground anchors at every corner to prevent toppling during high wind conditions.
Ventilation has been very good with the two high point vents and the numerous small openings due to the design. The ventilation worked well for us during our many +100F days here in Texas. The coop comes with 3 roosting bars that have a total of 6 possible positions. It took a few tries to find the combination that the chickens liked. We modified the nesting boxes by adding a partial curtain covering to give the layer some sense of privacy by attaching cloth to the underside of the lid. Cleaning the coop is a breeze. The coop floor under the roosting bars is covered by two trays that are easily removed from the backside of the coop. Our layers are fussy on their bedding materials and seem to prefer almost none in the nesting boxes. Of the four nesting boxes, our layers use only two. After being away overnight once, we came home to find 4 eggs in each of two nesting boxes. The chickens like to be on high places. Unfortunately the roof on the coop is far to slick for the birds who we watched slip and slide off of. So I modified the coop roof with self adhesive nonslip tape. We have recommended this coop design to others, and will continue to do so.”
“Doesn‚Äôt even deserve One star. Owned coop for over 6 months & coop Leaks when it rains heavily. Hens poop all over nesting box when perched overnight. Very drafty and not at all for a cold climate. Don‚Äôt waste your money.”
“Really like that My Pet Chicken put the plans for platform for free on their site. My husband and I snapped this together in about 1/2 hr, and it seems quite sturdy. Cleaning is a Breeze!!! Very happy with this coop, and the chickies seem to like it as well.”
“There was a long wait for this coop to come back into stock due to the recent demand but worth waiting for! Went together easy and it‚Äôs well built! I went with this plastic coop for ease of cleaning and it didn‚Äôt disappoint. There are plans online for building a stand for this model which I highly recommend! Over all - very happy!!”
