“This is the 2nd we've purchased. We've had our first for over a year and it is so easy to clean and collect eggs from. It has weathered New England winters and humid summers perfectly!”
“I'm relatively new to chicken ownership (started with 2 6-month-old hens 4 months ago and now I have 6) but I'd like to say great coop! My first coop was a cheap wooden one I ordered online. (I like to learn things the hard way...) Even though I had a contractor assemble it and I water-sealed it, it disintegrated after only 2 months. The Formex is easy to put together (I did it by myself in less than an hour) and I think it will last forever. I've only had it a couple of months but it is still in perfect condition and I don't think it will require ANY maintenance. The girls really seem to like it too! It's been cold and rainy here but it is warm and dry inside the coop even with the vents open. To address some negative comments I've seen: Yes it is a bit dark inside but it is not intended for the chickens to live in 24/7. They need access to outdoors (either a run or yard) during the daytime. In my opinion, the coop is for sleeping, egg-laying, and shelter in bad weather for which it is perfectly suited. Plenty of room for my 6 large hens to roost at night and 4 nest boxes is more than ample since they all seem to want to use the same one. At night 4 will cuddle up on one roost bar and 2 on another. It has 3 bars so theoretically I think it could hold 12 hens without much trouble. My only complaint is in agreement with other comments: The 2 bars closest to the nest boxes are located too close to the boxes. At night their butts hang slightly over the nest boxes and their poo falls into them. Every morning I have to rake the poo out of the nest boxes unless I want poopy eggs that day. Overall, I really like this coop and the best deal I found was from MyPetChicken.”
“Picked it up on sale. Worth every penny my girls say. Easy to assemble, easy to clean. Placed it inside a dog kennel, chicken wire on the bottom couple feet to keep other critters be out and good to go.
Highly recommend.”
“Easy to put together, and offers a number of access points to the nesting boxes and inside of the coop. A little bit expensive, but will recommend the product to others.”
“Extremely easy to put together. All pieces snap/lock firmly in place. All hinged or removable pieces are are additionally secured from opening by the use of metal clasps which are locked in place with carabiners. This chicken coop comfortably houses our six chickens and could easily house another six; although, you might find yourself short on nesting boxes.
Bedding and nesting trays slide out to allow for easy access and cleaning. They are made of sturdy plastic and can be hosed off or washed down with soap and water.
I would buy this product again and would highly recommend it to other backyard chicken farmers!”
“This is my third one. The other 2 was the smaller version. They are so easy to install. I put the legs on all three of mine with a walk up. The ultimate for me is they will not deteriorate like wood and so easy to clean and clean out.”
“I have two of the smaller ones and two of the larger ones. They clear very easily, and they are well ventilated. Work well summer and winter. You can take them completely apart and reassemble them for cleaning to change location. They look great over time. I can put it together in less than 30 minutes without tools.”
