“So happy with this coop. I read about all kinds of coops. Being first time chicken owner I did not want have to repurchase in a couple of years. I bought the large size. At present I have 4 ladies, hope to get a couple more. This went together very easily. Looks nice in my tiny yard, so far the cleaning has been a breeze. All my chicken friends ask about it. So I give them high reviews.”
“This is such a great coop. Easy to assemble, easy to clean and it will last forever. I am going to connect it to a "Chicken Pens Crate Rabbit Enclosure Pet Playpen Exercise Pen by BestPet" that will be used as a run. Then I will connect my old coop to the other end of the pet playpen. That will give the chickens some space to run around until I let them out to free range all day on about 1/2 acre of our backyard that is fenced.”
“Easy to assemble and well made. My four RIR's feel secure at night. Adding the http://www.theclevercoopcompany.com/auto-door-opener this week to complete a nice set up.”
“My 16 year old son put the top of the coop together by himself, but the base is the problem. At first, my son couldn't get the very first pieces to snap together. They are flimsy pieces that don't fit together well. We thought they would break shoving them together. For how much I paid for it, it was rather upsettingly cheap plastic. Really bad and flimsy, not the thickness of Little Tykes, nor the same kind of connections. This is deceptive. I had to make a trip to Lowes, and get wood cut to size. I needed an electric drill to drill holes and screw the wood into the base, and a hammer to nail it together, none of which I had. It cost an extra $40 (and more) for supplies. It took another man to help build the base with my son. After they put the 2x4's together, they took bungee cords and eye hooks and attached the heavy 2x4 frame to a little tykes wagon to the make the bottom of the base have wheels. It does hold firmly, but so much work to do. The coop looks great on wheels, the Little Tykes wagon is a nice solution, with a nice handle to pull around the yard; but the project is still not complete, we still don't have a ladder. This was a lot of work for the price of this coop.”
“I received my cooped yesterday. It is cute. The back is two pieces and has a latch to connect them....but the top piece of the back is bowed out, so it isn't flush to the bottom piece. Therefore, the perches aren't quite long enough and there is a gap between the two pieces. (You can see in the picture of the back the latch I'm referring g to) also, the coop is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. I definitely wouldn't put more than 8 chickens in it. I feel like the price is too high for what it is.”
“I LOVE this coop already and we just introduced the hens to it two days ago. They adjusted immediately. We are having a new run built, so I'm waiting to post photos of the finished project. I took photos all the way through putting the coop together. It only took me 45 minutes to assemble it. I was so happy with the provided instructions as they are very clear, concise, simple and easy to understand.”
“I have had a Formex coop for 6+ years. Most of the year it's unused because I use it only for introducing new birds to the flock or for quarantine, so it usually just sits in my yard. But even after all this time it's in pristine condition. It hasn't faded or rotted like the inexpensive wooden starter coop I bought did. I highly recommend this brand. It's not the cutest but it's worth the investment in the long run.”
