Snap Lock Formex Chicken Coop, Large White (Up to 8 Chickens)/No Accessories Reviews

4.6 Rating 358 Reviews
It was supper easy for 2 people to build. Easy to clean and construction seems well thought out. I do think it's a little crowded for my 7 chickens, we'll see as they grow. A window would be nice to add some light. We built the stand from your plans and it works great. We are very satisfied. Arrived as promised and in great shape. Thanks

I really like the coop. It cleans well. I think it’s a great investment if you want to have a coop that assembles quickly. I was moving and needed a coop immediately. This has worked great. I hope to put it on a cart so I can move it around easily. That project is not done yet but I am hopeful that this will work well.

Very easy to assemble but I did have to cut one tag piece that prevented it from 'snapping' together. No biggie. Difficult to access all areas inside as the roof only partially opens. I'm concerned if unsnapping and snapping it back could wear out the plugs aside from the one flap made for this purpose of accessing the inside from the roof. Opening the vents is difficult due to the restricted access to them. Wish the whole top could open easily and the door entrance was a bit larger. There are some air gaps in this design that could allow a mouse access. Needs to be made a little wider and taller for my 6 chickens - a bit cramped. Otherwise, it's a nice unit.

I’ve had two of the large coops for 7 years. They are excellent and each hold 10-12 large hens easily. The only complaint is that my girls are large Americauna and Buff Orpington and barely fit in the nesting boxes which makes it rather uncomfortable and hot during the Nevada summers. Ther than that, I recommend them to everyone who asks. They look new and hopefully will last many more years. Thank you for a great product which was well worth the money.

Looks great easy to assemble but I question the quantity of chickens as 8. Seems more suited to 4. Can I get more roosting bars somehow? And suggestions on adding ramp? There is no where to drill into base suggested for ramp without potential damaging plastic base. I’m afraid to risk a crack in base

The coop seems a little small for the $$$ and number of chickens the manufacturer states can fit in there -- but I should have looked more carefully at the measurements AND at the moment I have two young turkeys living in it also. It was SUPER easy to put together, and as far as keeping predators out I feel very confident that my birds are safe! It's definitely watertight too and has held up well in the recent windstorms we have had here! I love the perches (so do my birds). The automatic door opener is sooo expensive but would be such a nice addition in time... My biggest constructive criticism for the designers would be that the pull-out litter trays and the front door should have been put both on the same side of the coop so it could be positioned against a wall and stay fully functional -- as it is if you back it up to the wall you can use the front door but have to move it against to get to the trays, and vice versa. It's so big/bulky that moving it once it's assembled is an issue for one person alone.

I've bought two of these large coops, and a third one in the smaller size. Assembly took less than an hour. I have 9 to 10 medium and large breed chickens in each of the large coops. There is so much roosting space that everyone fits at night with room to spare. My girls and their roos love these coops, and I love how easy they are to clean and sanitize. Plus they are completely predator proof, and made in the USA. I don't think I'll ever go back to wooden coops.
