“The chicken coop is every thing that was advertised. On a scale of one to ten it is a definitey ten. So easy to put together. My four fat hen settled right in and are very content.”
“I got this as a secondary coop when I expanded our flock a few years back. It was great for this purpose, and we have used it since as an isolation coop when one of our girls got sick. We are currently cleaning it and ready to expand the family again. I definitely recommend raising the coop off the ground as we did find a family of rats living UNDER it in the darkness when we moved it one time, I think they were coming out at night and scavenging the enclosure for food. I will say, I have a wooden coop as our main one that at 3 years is showing some wear and tear and this one still looks brand new!”
“OMG! My chickies are now safe and secure--finally!! Over the last 10 years I have bought SEVERAL Chinese-made small coops with runs. I have not succeeded in putting ANY together completely. All, though cute, were came with teeny drawings that don't show everything and are written in mangled English. The standard Formax that I bought has crystal-clear drawings and instructions written in ACTUAL ENGLISH. The only goof on my end was that I installed the main lid upside down, so that the shingles are on the bottom. Still works, though needs a little modification to lock.(Pay attention to those shingles!) After some guidance at bedtime and slow disassembling of the old coop, the girls are happy in their snug new hom.. My only mini-gripe is that I did not receive plans for the stand. The coop is now on a wobbly surface that wont last long. No ramp--mine just fly up and down. So glad I m not sending my dollars to China where (like Korea and several other Asian countries) dogs and other animal are deliberately tortured by the thousands prior to butchering them. AT first I resented the cost. Now , I just say "Thank you, U.S. based Formex, for a great product!"”
“The three formex coops I purchased from your site were less expensive and less well-made. The karabiners were more flimsy, they didn't have the tabs to hold them on to the coop and the nest boxes don't fit as securely in the coop as with the first coops I bought through Amazon. I'm not sure if it's because mypetchicken sells seconds so they're more cheaply made or if the Formex company is cutting back to save money.
Overall, though, the design works and it is still secure (though I may have to replace some of the karabiners) and easy to clean.
BTW, I only meant to purchase one large and one small but somehow even after I removed one of the large ones from my cart, it still showed up and I was charged for it. We have several chickens so I kept it--no harm except for the complaints mentioned about the differences on these coops.”
