“My husband told me that he is fine to get chickens but the assembly of the coop should be easy. I assembled it all by myself in 15 minutes when I was waiting for him to come from work to assemble it!! Super easy! It is light, you can move it. We got our chicks, it is now huge for them, but they are going to grow. I have 2 bantams Cochins and 2 Silkies. I am going to get 1 or 2 more. I wish my husband would not make me to buy a smaller coop!! I wish I would buy the same kind but bigger!! This one is still fine. I cannot have more then 6 chickens anyway. I think I would need to have all my neighbors sign papers if I want to have more then 6 chickens. Gets complicated. I envy to people who can have Roosters !!! Chickens would be Great they really Love hanging outside!!! Mine loved stayed in the door today when it was raining!! They really like this coop!!!”
“I was able to put this coop together in a very short time - 20 min, & it's solid, well made, & the chickens love it. I'm very happy with it, & ordered another for my daughter.”
“I bought this as a grow-out coop/house for baby chickens after coming out of the brooder and they went in at 8wks or so. It was extremely easy to put together, except all the latches had to be taken off and relocated in order to close properly (the latchs to the clean out door and lid to nest boxes). Because of my use for the coop house, I did not use the nest trays or the regular tray, but fashioned a new tray that covered the whole area of the floor. They are quite thin plastic and I stored them in the garage laying flat because I fear they would easily succumb to sun/heat warping. Nest boxes are quite shallow, only about 2 1/2 inches deep. Instructions for an elevated frame support structure of 2 x 4's was included, but so far I just placed it on a pallet. It had deep holes in the floor in 4 places (supposed to be there as part of the structural support, I assume) which I had to fill with cut off commercial black 1 gallon flower pots, since I wasn't using the included tray and nest box pieces. I relocated the roost to a higher position by the door and secured it with screws.. I used the clean out door as access to the coop and closed it at night until they learned to go in at night and the weather warmed up. I thought when I bought this that it had 2 doors! Be aware that that 2nd door is just part of the molding pattern and does not open. In addition, the door panel will only fit one side of the coop, which can limit your options for placement. If actually using this coop as a home for adult chickens, I would worry that over time, the lift up part of the roof to access the nest boxes will start to tear, since it has no hinges, just bending plastic. When that happens, the roof will leak. Still, it is serving my purpose for it well, and since won't be opening roof won't be a problem for me. Chickens are 3 months now, it is summer and I am just leaving the clean out door off. They seem to like it. I found an evaporative cooler pad that fit in the floor area perfectly and put shavings over it as bedding. I would have given this a 3 1/2 if that was an option. The fact that I had to relocate the latches caused me not to give it a 4. I don't feel that this coop is predator safe, and that it should be placed in a secure run or backyard area. I do like the fact that it is plastic, won't rot, can be disassembled if needed, and can be easily cleaned by pressure washing, and needs no paint. I am thinking of getting the larger version to house my Cochin hens, but haven't decided yet. The large one is taller, but actual floor area is not much different from this one with the nest boxes removed. Most of the extra room is the nest boxes.”
“Set this up in about 10 minutes. It locks up great and still provides easy access to the inside. We‚Äôll be building the stand (directions are in the box) so it‚Äôs up off the ground. In the meantime the toddler is using it as a garage for his dump truck until chickens arrive in the spring.”
“Love this coop and highly recommend it. It is sturdy, weather proof and secure. Easy to assemble and building a stand and ramp was not difficult. Plenty of room to spare for our 3 large hens. But...the best is the ease of cleaning and access. I‚Äôm new to chicken keeping and I so glad to have found this instead of the flimsy wood coops at the local ranch store that cost almost the same. They don‚Äôt last even a year”
