“We ordered a bunch of chicks with a March hatch date, including one partridge olive egger. We chose our breeds very carefully as we can only have a limited number where we live. This was to be our one green egg layer plus we love how they look. Within a few weeks, our chick didn't seem to look like a partridge olive egger. It became quite clear within a few months that we did not receive the chick we purchased. Instead of a green egg-laying, partridge olive egger, we were sent a brown leghorn that lays white eggs. Not at all what we asked for and I'm not sure how this mistake could have even happened. While MPC was very helpful and refunded the cost of this one bird, we now have a breed we didn't want. Of course we adore her but really wanted a green layer. Even if we gave her away, we would only have room for one more bird and we couldn't order and raise a single chick alone only to have to go into a larger flock with older girls. That just wouldn't be safe. So we will have to wait a few years until space opens up and order several chicks. Just hoping we get the ones we paid for.”
“I have had an adult Partridge Olive Egger that was not only beautiful but laid the prettiest olive green eggs almost daily. Unfortunately a predstor got her. I have been waiting for more to be hatched. And now i have them!”
Nadia, we are so very sorry to hear that you lost your pretty lady but grateful we were able to help you! We appreciate your taking the time to review the Partridge Olive Egger chicks and hope that we will be of assistance to you in the future! Hoping for many wonderful years of you and your flock together!
“My olive egger Maria is the Small chicken I have (out of 14 different breeds) she's friendly and curious. When she was younger she would jump on my shoulder and sit. She lays an army green medium egg. And although she is the smallest, she sits at the top of the pecking order somehow.”
“My Partridge olive egger, named Olive, is now 6 months old, and she lays a love green egg. She is a bit flighty but very intelligent, and not adverse to being held and hand fed treats. I’m very pleased with her!”
“My baby partridge olive egger, Souffle, is a bit on the shy side in comparison to her two new sisters (red star and salmon favorelle). She's absolutely beautiful though! Very healthy and growing appropriately.”
“My POE is a very confident and intelligent chicken. She started laying beautiful olive green eggs around 20 weeks, same time as my other girls of various breeds. But she's always been brave and inquisitive and is certainly the top chicken of our flock. She's lean and has lovely brown coloring similar to a welsummer. She's friendly but greedy when the treats come out. Loves to follow me for more treats, and lets me know she's disappointed by giving my shoes or hands a quick peck. Consistent layer. Happy to have her.”
